1. About Tekhni
Tekhni is an on-demand platform operated by Strategic Solutions (Northern) Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company registration number 06462100, with registered address at 24 Green Head Road, Utley, West Yorkshire, BD20 6EA, United Kingdom ("Tekhni", "we", "us").
The Tekhni mobile application ("the App") connects customers requiring trade services (plumbing, electrical work, gas engineering) with verified, self-employed tradesmen operating in Greece. Tekhni acts as a technology intermediary only — we are not a party to the service contract between customer and tradesman, and we do not employ tradesmen.

2. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Tekhni App, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
You must be 18 years of age or older to use Tekhni.
3. User Accounts
3.1 Registration
You must provide accurate, complete, and current information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
3.2 Account types
- Customer accounts — for individuals seeking trade services in Greece
- Tradesman accounts — for verified, self-employed tradesmen offering services in Greece
3.3 Account suspension
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that:
- Provides false or misleading registration information
- Violates these Terms
- Engages in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal behaviour
- Receives multiple substantiated complaints from other users
4. Customer Terms
4.1 Posting jobs
When posting a job, you must provide an accurate description of the work required and your correct location. Deliberately misleading job descriptions may result in account suspension and you may be liable for the tradesman's reasonable call-out costs.
4.2 Payment
- You agree to pay the final amount agreed with the tradesman upon satisfactory job completion
- Payment is processed securely through Stripe — Tekhni does not store your card details
- A Tekhni platform fee of 10% of the job value is included in the total amount charged to you
- Payments are non-refundable once a job is marked as completed, except in cases of genuine dispute (see Section 8)
4.3 Cancellation
If you cancel a job after a tradesman has been dispatched and is en route, you may be liable for a call-out fee at the tradesman's reasonable discretion.
4.4 Customer obligations
- Be present at the job address at the agreed time, or arrange access
- Ensure safe and reasonable access to the work area
- Treat tradesmen with respect and professionalism
- Not request work that violates Greek building codes, safety regulations, or any applicable law
5. Tradesman Terms
5.1 Eligibility
To register as a tradesman on Tekhni, you must:
- Be legally authorised to work in Greece
- Hold a valid professional qualification for your trade (plumber, electrician, or gas engineer) recognised under Greek law
- Hold valid public liability insurance at all times while accepting Tekhni jobs
- Provide genuine identity, certification, and insurance documents for verification
- Be self-employed or a registered business entity — you are not an employee of Tekhni
5.2 Verification
Your account will be reviewed by Tekhni before activation. We reserve the right to reject or revoke verification if documents are found to be invalid, expired, or fraudulent. Submitting false or forged documents is a criminal offence under Greek and UK law.
5.3 Subscription
- Tradesmen pay a platform subscription fee of €50 per month to access job matching on Tekhni
- The subscription is billed monthly via Stripe to your nominated payment method
- You may cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
- No refunds are issued for unused portions of a billing period already paid
5.4 Platform commission
- Tekhni retains a 10% commission on the final agreed job value for each completed job
- This commission is automatically deducted at the point of customer payment
- The remaining 90% of the job value will be transferred to your connected bank account via Stripe, subject to Stripe's payout schedule
5.5 Tradesman obligations
- Only accept jobs you are qualified and insured to carry out
- Arrive at the job address promptly and notify the customer via the App of any significant delays
- Carry your professional certification and identity document at all times while on a Tekhni job
- Provide a fair, accurate, and transparent quote to the customer before commencing work
- Complete all work to a professional standard, in compliance with applicable Greek regulations and safety standards
- Maintain your online/offline availability status accurately in the App
- Maintain valid public liability insurance at all times and provide updated documentation upon request
5.6 Tax and legal obligations
You are solely responsible for registering with the relevant Greek tax authorities, declaring all income earned through Tekhni, and paying all applicable taxes (including income tax and VAT where applicable) in accordance with Greek law. Tekhni is not your employer and does not withhold tax, national insurance, or social contributions on your behalf. We recommend seeking advice from a Greek accountant or tax adviser.
6. Platform Rules (All Users)
The following are strictly prohibited on Tekhni:
- Circumventing the platform — arranging payment for Tekhni-introduced jobs outside the App (first offence: formal warning; repeated offence: permanent account ban)
- Harassment, abuse, threatening behaviour, or discrimination toward any user
- Posting false, misleading, or malicious reviews or ratings
- Creating multiple accounts for the same individual or purpose
- Using the App for any illegal, fraudulent, or unauthorised purpose
- Attempting to reverse-engineer, scrape, hack, or disrupt the App or its infrastructure
7. Ratings and Reviews
After job completion, customers may leave a star rating (1–5) and an optional written review. All reviews must be honest, fair, and based on genuine first-hand experience. We reserve the right to remove reviews that are abusive, defamatory, fraudulent, or otherwise in breach of these Terms.
Tradesmen whose average rating falls below 2.0 stars after a minimum of 10 verified reviews may have their account suspended pending investigation and may be offered the opportunity to appeal.
8. Disputes
8.1 Between customer and tradesman
If a dispute arises regarding the quality, completion, or payment of work, both parties should first attempt to resolve it directly and in good faith. If unresolved within 48 hours, either party may raise a formal dispute through the App within 7 days of the job completion date.
8.2 Tekhni's role in disputes
Tekhni will review evidence submitted by both parties and make a reasonable, good-faith determination on platform-level matters. Our determination on such matters is final. Serious unresolved disputes may be referred to:
- The Hellenic Consumer Ombudsman (synigoroskatanaloti.gr)
- The competent Greek civil courts
- The EU Online Dispute Resolution platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr)
8.3 Refunds
Where Tekhni determines a refund is appropriate following a dispute, it will be processed via Stripe. Stripe's processing fees are non-refundable in all circumstances.
9. Tekhni's Role and Liability
9.1 Intermediary status
Tekhni is a technology platform. We do not:
- Employ tradesmen or enter into contracts of employment with them
- Guarantee the quality, timeliness, or outcome of any work performed
- Verify that completed work meets all applicable Greek building or safety regulations
- Act as an insurer for customers, tradesmen, or third parties
9.2 Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Tekhni's total aggregate liability to any user shall not exceed the greater of: the total platform fees paid by that user in the 3 months immediately preceding the claim, or €100 (one hundred euros).
In no event shall Tekhni be liable for: the quality or safety of work carried out by tradesmen; property damage caused by a tradesman; any indirect, consequential, incidental, or punitive losses; loss of earnings, loss of business, or loss of data; or App unavailability due to maintenance, force majeure, or third-party outages.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
9.3 Property damage
If a tradesman causes damage to your property during a job, this should be claimed through the tradesman's public liability insurance. Tekhni is not liable for such damage but will provide reasonable assistance in facilitating the claims process where possible.
10. Intellectual Property
All content within the App — including the Tekhni name, logo, design, software, and functionality — is owned by or licensed to Strategic Solutions (Northern) Ltd and is protected by UK and international intellectual property law. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.
By uploading photos, videos, or other content to the App, you grant Tekhni a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, store, and display that content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Tekhni service.
11. Termination
You may delete your account at any time through the Profile section of the App. We may terminate or suspend your account at any time if you breach these Terms.
Upon termination: any outstanding payments must be settled; tradesman subscription access ceases at the end of the current billing period (no pro-rata refunds); your personal data will be retained only as required by applicable law (see Privacy Policy, Section 6).
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you via the App at least 14 days before any material changes take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. However, as Tekhni operates in Greece and primarily serves Greek consumers, applicable mandatory provisions of Greek consumer law and EU consumer protection law will apply to customers in Greece and cannot be excluded by this clause.
For disputes not resolved through our internal process: users in Greece may bring proceedings before the courts of Thessaloniki, Greece, or use the Hellenic Consumer Ombudsman; users in the UK may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales; EU users may use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be severed and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
15. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Strategic Solutions (Northern) Ltd in relation to your use of the Tekhni App and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.

These Terms of Service are written in English. For users in Greece, a Greek translation will be made available. In the event of any conflict between language versions, the English version shall prevail, subject to any mandatory provisions of Greek consumer law.
